We have a wide selection of planer and jointer knives for all applications. We have the ability in-house to custom make a knife for your application. We offer 3 different substrates to help offer you longer run times between maintenance. The biggest issues when picking the correct knife involve how long your material will keep a sharp edge.

  • Good: HSS or High Speed Steel has been the standard solution for many years. Good performance for the price. Many different grades of HSS exist to help optimize your needs.
  • Best: HPS or High Performance steel is a patented HSS but with extra Vanadium. This patented material is the result of years of research. Made in Germany.
  • Situational: Carbide inlay is a way to get a extremely hard and corrosive resistant cutting edge but without the price of an entire piece of carbide. The downside is carbide is brittle when compared to HSS, and one piece of foreign material could scrap your knife.
